Calcium nitrate

Calcium nitrate

Calcium nitrate, molecular weight 164.09, a colorless cubic crystal, density is 2.504 g/cm, melting point 561 ℃, deliquescence in the air, easily soluble in water. It can form monohydrate and tetrahydrate. When calcium nitrate is heated, it decomposes to form calcium nitrite and liberate oxygen. It has strong oxidization, and friction and impact with sulfur, phosphorus and organic matter can cause combustion or explosion.

Applications:
1. In electronic industry, it is used for coating cathode, as fast growing fertilizers for acidic soils and for fast calcium supplements in agriculture 2. Used as analytical reagent and material for firework.
3. It is the raw material for the manufacture of other nitrates.

Agricultural calcium nitrate is a typical fast acting foliar fertilizer, which can act more smoothly on acidic soils. Calcium in fertilizers can neutralize acidity in soil. For the regenerative fertilization of winter crops, the post (Qualitative) additional fertilization of grain, excessive consumption of alfalfa growth and fertilization, sugar beet, forage beet, poppy, corn, green feed mixture and effective fertilizer to eliminate plant calcium deficiency.

Adopting the most advanced plant growth theory, it has the characteristics of quick calcium supplement and nitrogen replenishment. Its unique combination of nitrate-nitrogen and full water-soluble calcium provides many properties and advantages which not found in other fertilizers. It is one of the most valuable fertilizers on the market.

Calcium nitrate contains 11.8% nitrogen (nitrate) and 23.7% water-soluble calcium (CaO), which is beneficial to the absorption of nutrient elements, enhance the resistance to fruit and vegetables, promote early maturing and improve the quality of fruit and vegetable. It is widely used in agriculture for base application, topdressing and Foliar spraying, and can also be used as a nutrient solution for soil free cultivation.. It contains a lot of calcium ions, which will not only deteriorate the physical properties of soil, but also improve the physical properties of soil. It is best used for sugar beet, potato, barley, bast fiber and other crops, and is widely used in various kinds of soil, especially in calcium deficiency acid soil, the effect will be better.

Application:
1, it is better to used as topdressing fertilizer in the dry field. But it should be noted that the nutrients of calcium nitrate are easy to lose, hence it can be applied in a small amount frequently, and generally do not apply before raining.
2. When used as base fertilizer, it can be combined with decomposed organic fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer (Calcium superphosphate) and potash fertilizer, which will obviously improve fertilizer efficiency. However, it is not suitable to mix with SSP alone to prevent the effect of phosphatic fertilizer.
3, because of the lower nitrogen content of calcium nitrate, the applied dosage should be more than that of other kinds of nitrogen fertilizers.

Attentions:
1 . Paddy fields should not be applied because calcium nitrate belongs to nitrate nitrogen, which is easy to leaching loss with water.
2. Do not mix with fresh manure and composting, because the organic acids produced during the process of fertilizer fermentation will decompose calcium nitrate into nitric acid, causing the loss of fertilizer nutrients.

Explosion risk: This product is highly flammable and irritating.
Storage attentions: store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Stay away from fire and heat. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 26℃. Keep the packing sealed. It should be stored separately with oxidant, reducing agent and alkali, using explosion-proof lighting, ventilation facilities. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to generate sparks. Emergency handling equipment and suitable storage materials should be provided in the storage area.
